You may be wondering where I've been for the last week or so. The answer is this blog. Well, not entirely. Sarah and Brett left the kids with me since Wednesday to go to out-of-town wedding, so I've had to do this 'blog creation' mostly after the kids are in bed. I haven't had time to read the internet as I usually do, nor see any friends, nor do any bike workouts other than watch some of the Tour de France from the kitchen while cooking for the kids...
And let me tell you, for someone who is mostly computer illiterate, it has been frustating and humbling to try to learn what is essentially a new language, read endless pages of nearly incomprensible instructions and try to not lose my place while caring for kiddos. And, of course, I have no idea yet whether this venue will be a satisfactory one for disseminating information to folks who might appreciate it. I intend to continue to be something of a news aggregator, offer comments, and round up some of the most relevant commentary from others to share on this site. I was interested enough in Cronkite's death to see what was being said about him here and there. Glen Greenwald at Salon.com had the best comment I found in a quick search. http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald and as soon as I figure out how to cut and paste in this format instead of wrting out the url as I did Greenwald's there will be a smattering of hopefully interesting, even useful items for your perusal. d

Okay, David....I will bite. Why did you initiate this new adventure? It can't simply be to just torture your friends by an additional way to frustrate their internet communications!
